Are sapphires and diamonds measured the same?

Meaning is a one carat sapphire the same size as a one carat diamond?
The reason I am asking is because my engagement ring is being redone and it has a diamond and two sapphires on it. They are all 1/2 carat.

When jewlers refer to carats, it is not the size of the gemstone, it is its weight.

So, a 1 ct sapphire will weigh the same as a 1 ct diamond.

The one that has the greater unit weight (density) will be smaller.

Geologically speaking, no special meaning. Star sapphires contain intersecting needle-like inclusions that cause the six-rayed star-shaped pattern when viewed with a single overhead light source.

My nationality is Myanmar. My real name is the meaning of Sapphire. But I found that the name history of Sapphire is not good in English. And another one, dimple is related with my appearance. Which one should i choose?

Sapphire, in American English, just sounds exotic, with no negative connotations. But if you are from Myanmar, an American is expecting an exotic name. You might even try using your own name, transliterated, assuming it was capable of English close approximation, as many Americans have names with non-European origins. Dimple doesn't even sound like a name, other than an odd surname used as a personal name. Of the two, Sapphire would be preferable. You might try Blue or Jewel, which sound more like nicknames, instead.
