Diamonds: Blue Nile vs Brick & Mortar?
Okay, so I know why Blue Nile is cheaper. No overhead, drop shipping no middle-person.. and so on. Obviously the disadvantage is not being able to compare stones side by side and see the sparkle.
I've been to several brick and mortar stores and seen several diamonds. Some places sparkle more than others - then again it could be clever lighting.
Anyway, I am looking for a D-E colorless and IF-VVS1 clarity half carat diamond.
Trouble is, It was VERY hard to find diamonds in the D category color and Impossible to find IF or VVS1, when shopping at Brick & Mortar stores (in fact I haven't found one yet)
Blue Nile has both D and IF diamonds that I can afford, but I'm wary.
How does Blue Nile has so many D and IF quality diamonds when everyone tells me those grade of diamonds are supposed to be very rare?
What do you think? Has anyone had experience with loose diamonds from Blue Nile? Should I give them a try or keep looking?
