You don't mention how big the diamonds are, so I'll give you a range. The low end will represent 1/4 total carat weight, and the high will represent a 1 carat total weight.

Retail replacement cost (for insurance appraisals) would range from $250-1200.

Scrap cost (for pawn) would be around $50-120.

If you're trying to sell it privately, try for half of retail replacement.

The best way is to shop around. The more knowledge you have, the better. You should find out the average cost of each diamond as well as the cost of the setting.

i want to get rid of it but i because it is missing a diamond and it would be over 100.00 just to rplace the diamond but i dont want to get screwed on it so how much is a fair price

You are caught between a rock and a hard place.
The ring is not going to be worth as much with the stone missing, (is it a small one), but it might not be worth spending $100 to fix it.
A rough guide would be about a quarter of its retail /insurance value, less the repair cost.
Without details of diamonds, and ring weight it would be hard to put a value on this item.

I have a lot of jewelry I need to get rid of. Some very nice, new (diamond earrings, diamond bracelet, diamond anniversary ring, gold chains etc.) and some older maybe not so nice depending on taste.
