Your Questions About Tattoos & Birthstones Meanings

Paul asks…

What tattoo did you get to rep your kids?

I got my girl's names tattooed on me and I want to add to it but I'm at a loss. I've looked up flowers and their meanings, thought about birthstones, fairies, butterflies... I really just can't decide what to do. I want it to mean something. They're both too small to draw me a picture themselves. What did you get?

admin answers:

When your kids get a little older and can draw/write have them write their name and draw a picture of themselves. My mom did that when I was either 4 or 5 and now I plan to do that for my kids too. Other then that you could get their hand/foot prints from when they were in the hospital. My friend got the portraits of her two kids on her. These are just some ideas. Hope this helps(: xoSimmy.

Michael asks…

What do these Jewish pieces of jewelry mean?

My family got some gifts from a friend who is Jewish and we are not and I was hoping you could help me figure out the meanings or direct me to a place that can. I got a Jewish Mezuzah necklace and it has a plant that resembles wheat and my sister got a ring that looks like it has little gems of each birthstone any helppp?

admin answers:

It seems to me that the ring with the little gems represents the 12 Tribes of Israel. I don't have enough time to explain it, I just spotted the question. Look it up on wikipedia.

Lizzie asks…

Seeing your birthstone in your dream?

I had a dream last night and I already checked out the meanings of various things I saw in my dream and have pieced together a general idea of what my subconscious is trying to tell me but I cant find any information about seeing your birthstone in your dream. What does it mean if you see it in your dreams? I'm sure there has to be some significant meaning in it. If it helps to be more specific in the meaning, I was born in November. Any information would be helpful =)

admin answers:

Topaz is the stone of spiritual wisdom and intuition. Often it is found in dreams of problem solving concerning inter-personal relationships.
I don't know what it means to see your specific birthstone, though, sawry :/

Sharon asks…

diamond tattoo?

i have a couple questions about diamond tattoos..... do you have any? what do they mean to you? why did you get it? (kind of redundent i guess) where is it on your body? what color is it? and do specific colors have different meanings. the meaning i found online is that a diamond symbolizes immunity, destruction, and ever lasting life in past, present and the future. i would like to get it because i feel like over the years i've let people take advanage of me, and i feel like the diaomond represents me now that i'm immune from negative people. its my birthstone as well. oh and i was thinking about getting it on the back of my neck, probably about the size of a nickle, or a little bigger.

thanks!

admin answers:

I don't have a diamond tattoo (I have one that has pearls, though), but I adore that idea. I can't express how much I love the fact that you've put some serious thought into your tattoo meaning, and the theme is quite gorgeous as well.
I wouldn't get it too small, though. If it's too small, it's going to blend in as it ages. A little bigger would be better. And make sure that you go to a great artist to get this amazing piece of work done!
Good luck and have fun!

Sandra asks…

What do you think of this tattoo idea? Any suggestions?

I've been playing around with different tattoo ideas to represent myself and my struggle with depression, etc. Since I was a writer, I was looking at a feather pen dripping ink that forms a heart-shaped puddle. Then, I wanted the references for the two most significant Bible verses in my life: "Jeremiah 29:11-14" and "Psalm 45:1."

Lately, I've been thinking about going with a peacock feather design for the pen. I just think it would be fitting, seeing as the peacock not only represents beauty, but the ability to survive in suffering and the fact that it can also have meanings related to a phoenix definitely appeal to me. I want the ink and writing in black ink, but the feather can be in color.

Then, I was thinking about adding another element: a strand of pearls kind of looping/wrapping around the feather: mostly white with a few orange ones. The white ones represent recovery, while the orange is the color recognized for self-injury awareness. I just love the whole beauty-from-pain symbolism of the pearl. Plus the fact that the pearl represents purity and innocence appeals to me since I always see purity and innocence as a quality of childhood, and I'm very passionate about working with children. The pearl is also my Birthstone.

I'm still not sure about the design though. I like the overall idea, but I'm just not sure how it would work out.
I've never gotten a tattoo before. I figured someone here might be able to tell me if something will work as a tattoo or not... or someone can give suggestions for the design. I have the overall idea picked out, but I haven't settled on the fine details of it.

admin answers:

Would you like the tatto in 30 years? That's the only question you need to ask yourself. None of us know you, will see you or have any interaction with you so our opinion means nothing.
